Job Title:  Legacy Networks Mid-Level Program Specialist

 DOD Clearance: Must have a ACTIVE Secret Clearance

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (Washington Navy Yard)

Education: 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Requirements: The Project Specialist shall have strong project management, written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, MS Project, and MS PowerPoint as well as a foundational knowledge in Legacy Network migrations, transport, server connectivity, Communities of Interest (COI), and Demilitarized Zones (DMZ).

PMP Certification is a plus

Key Role/Position Description:  The LNS PMs provide Project Management for Legacy Network Services (LNS) as directed by the LNS DAPM, the LNS Deputy Manager, and the LNS Lead Project Manager. The PMs are responsible for the oversight and management of NEN LNS projects. A PM is aligned with a Technical SME on every LNS project. They lead the business aspects of LNS projects and make decisions in collaboration with the Technical SME and leverage the expertise of the LNS team. The PMs perform all aspects of planning, organizing, and managing as directed by the Lead PM. They manage all aspects of specific LNS projects including oversight of the NGEN service provider’s project management function. The Project Manager develops, maintains, and improves the standards, templates and artifacts for managing projects in a way consistent with industry best practices and NGEN requirements.

Skills: Conduct project planning and oversight

Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules in MS Project

Provide project updates

Develop standard project templates for LNS projects

Develop BCAs, ROMs, and notional schedules

Gathering, documenting, and validating requirements

Coordinate and facilitate IPT and project team meetings

Develop and distribute meeting agendas and meeting minutes

Establish and maintain an Action Tracker per project

Lead in the development and submittal of Statement of Objectives (SOO)

Lead in the review of the NGEN service provider’s proposals

Perform risk management

Perform issue resolution

Develop briefs to the appropriate executive level

Capture and maintain the status of projects, tasks, and efforts
